When to Call for Emergency Assistance
Please call 911 or your local emergency number if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms that may require immediate medical or mental health assistance:
- Physical Health Emergencies:
- Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath.
- Persistent chest pain or pressure.
- Severe allergic reactions (swelling, difficulty breathing, etc.).
- New confusion or inability to stay awake or alert.
- Bluish lips, face, or other signs of oxygen deprivation.
- Sudden numbness, weakness, or slurred speech (possible signs of stroke).
- Mental Health Emergencies:
- If you feel like hurting yourself or others.
- Severe panic attacks that prevent daily functioning.
- Extreme mood swings or sudden, intense depression.
- Hallucinations, paranoia, or delusions.
- Behaviors that are out of control or pose a danger to yourself or others.
